This year I turned 30, as a present the lovely Fiance (whom I think was worried I would take the big 3-0 badly) decided to book a funcy holiday. After much Googling, visiting to travel agencies and quizzing of friends, we finally settled on sunny California. It was a good choice, not only did it give me a chance to visit Yosemite (and see where my favourite Ansel Adams was inspired) it also gave me the chance to meet up with a second cousin who last saw me when I was kneehigh to a grasshopper!
We had decided to fly in and out of San Francisco so we could have a relaxed road trip. When I looked into the trip I wasn’t able to find anyone else who had done the exact route I was looking for so I thought a blog post was in order to shout about how enjoyable it was and how easy it was to do in a fortnight. Everywhere we stayed had a maximum of a 4 hour drive each day and plenty of time to sightsee in between.
Our California Road Trip Route:
- San Francisco (two nights)
- Lake Tahoe (two nights)
- Yosemite (three nights)
- Visalia (one night)
- Morro Bay (one night)
