Day Thirteen Part Two : The Stinkin’ Rose and Lombard St

We made our way back up to San Francisco via Mountain View (so I could see Google HQ!) and our hotel for this stay was on Lombard St just a few minutes walk from the squiggly bit.

California Road Trip Day Two : Alcatraz and Family

Day two saw me up at 5am again due to sheer excitement of my impending trip to Alcatraz.

We left early to walk there, stopped in Starbucks, made a wrong turning on exiting Starbucks and had to run through San Francisco to get to the Pier on time. Eventually we got to the pier, onto the boat and on our 10 minute boat trip to the Island. Read the rest of this entry »

Today I was awake at 5am so after an hour playing on t’internet I was ready to waken the sleeping other half and once again ‘encourage’ him to get up and out.

California Road Trip Day One : Arriving in San Francisco

Getting into San Francisco from the airport was fast and simple due to the rail link form the airport. We wanted a hotel right in the centre of the city and decided on the Westin right beside the Gallery of Modern Art. San Francisco and California Road Trip

This year I turned 30, as a present the lovely Fiance (whom I think was worried I would take the big 3-0 badly) decided to book a funcy holiday. After much Googling, visiting to travel agencies and quizzing of friends, we finally settled on sunny California.
